All students involved in the Stage 84 Street & Freestyle Dance programme will be entered for IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) examinations. These examinations help develop technical skills as well as building confidence in performance. At Stage 84 we also feel that examination work helps to give recognition for the students’ hard work and improvement throughout their training. The IDTA is a highly respected international board whose dance qualifications are an asset for anyone wanting to embark on a career in performance. Each student will perform a number of dance routines in front of an IDTA examiner who will grade the performance on rhythmic interpretation, presentation, technical ability, use of foot work and arms. The grades then add up to a final mark.
Freestyle Dance classes will regularly feature:
Warm up | Corner work | Creative tasks
Rehearsal of ongoing work | Learning new signature moves | Cool down
