Stage 84’s Contemporary Dance group have performed specially-choreographed pieces in our annual Christmas shows and performed at large scale regional events such as Fresh at the CAST Theatre in Doncaster.
Contemporary Dance classes will regularly feature:
Warm up | Creative tasks
Rehearsal of ongoing work | Learning new moves | Cool down
Class Times
Classes run on a Tuesday evening at the Old Bell Chapel, Idle and are organised as follows:
CD1 - Ages 11-18, 5.30pm - 6.30pm
Uniform requirements - in brief
Comfortable dance wear - leggings / jogging bottoms and a close fitting t-shirt should be worn.
Baggy clothing should be avoided as this distracts from the intention of the class to focus on body shaping and movement.
Wearing of jewellery is discouraged. Hair should be tied back.
Contemporary Dance offers aspiring young dancers the chance to be trained by an experienced professional choreographer, learn a new style of dance and develop their confidence in performance work. Each student will develop their own moves and dance sequences. All students have the opportunity to be represented by the School for potential work in professional television, film, radio and theatre productions.
