Stage 84’s contemporary dance group most recently presented a piece commemorating the First World War as part of our 2014 Christmas production.
Contemporary Dance classes will regularly feature:
Warm up | Creative tasks
Rehearsal of ongoing work | Learning new moves | Cool down
Classes run on a Friday evening at the Old Fire Station, Idle and are organised as follows:
CD1 - Ages 11-20+, 5.00pm - 6.00pm
Comfortable dance wear - leggings / jogging bottoms and a close fitting t-shirt should be worn.
Baggy clothing should be avoided as this distracts from the intention of the class to focus on body shaping and movement.
Wearing of jewellery is discouraged. Hair should be tied back.
Contemporary Dance offers aspiring young dancers the chance to be trained by an experienced professional choreographer, learn a new style of dance and develop their confidence in performance work. Each student will develop their own moves and dance sequences. All students have the opportunity to be represented by the School for potential work in professional television, film, radio and theatre productions.
