"I write to congratulate Valerie Jackson and the whole cast and crew of Stage 84 on a magnificent performance of Beauty and the Beast on Saturday. The colourful array of highly talented students sang, danced and acted their socks off. The choreography must have been challenging with so many students to display, but how spectacularly they filled the stage. Even the youngest students dressed as tiny mice swung their tails with gusto during their brief appearance causing the audience to respond with delighted aaahs and ooohs - hats off to Rebecca Cook and Amy Watkins, the show's choreographers. Valerie Jackson's pure dedication to Stage 84, her tremendous ongoing vision and unique style of nurturing and encouragement of her students, together with her first-class team, create this excellence and gives us what we see - huge enthusiasm, abundant talent and great entertainment.
I very much look forward to next year when Stage 84 stage Peter Pan"

"When you announced you would be staging Beauty and the Beast I was excited but couldn't help feeling that was a very brave and ambitious project on which to embark. It was only after I had watched the performance on Saturday evening that it dawned on me that the performers weren't the paid, seasoned professionals that they appeared to be but talented youngsters who attend the same school of performing arts as my daughter. Among a sea of talented cast members, Lucy, Thomas, Zak, and Lauren excelled. It took a lot of time convincing the friends we had taken with us that the main characters were played by people so young. The costumes, the sets, the choreography - everything. Whilst everyone involved in getting the show onto the stage deserves enormous praise (director, choreographers, actors, staff, chaperones, wardrobe, props et al) I also believe that your foresight and belief in your school that you must have had when making the decision to take on such a project should be at the top of the list. I thank you for a night that will be remembered for a long time to come and for allowing my daughter and your other students the chance to be part of it."

"They have done it again! Mrs Jackson's Stage 84 production of Peter Pan at the Alhambra was superb. The whole cast and scenery were amazing, the flying scenes were breath-taking. I feel that I have to make a special mention to Zak Derler as Mr Darling and Captain Hook. Look out, Johnny Depp, here is a young man ready to step into your shoes."
- Letter to the Telegraph and Argus from Mrs P Norris, Eccleshill
