Stage 84 - The Yorkshire School of Performing Arts - Est. 1984

Founded in 1984, Stage 84 remains a leading force in the provision of performing arts training for young people in Northern England. We welcome boys and girls from 3 years of age upwards to early 20s, offering classes in performing arts, drama, freestyle dance, street dance, speech and drama, singing & voice coaching and more. Thousands of young people have attended Stage 84, either for recreation or to train specifically for a career in the performing arts industries. Students are guided by experienced, professional staff. We aim to inspire enjoyment and achievement in the arts and develop the self confidence and expression of the individual. We are located in large, purpose-fitted facilities in Bradford.

Stage 84 have performed across the UK and have represented the City of Bradford before the Queen, at the Millennium Dome, and most recently at the Kurhaus Theatre in Germany. Stage 84 have produced and performed their own musicals in addition to many known shows from Jesus Christ Superstar to We Will Rock You, attracting numerous theatrical awards. As an approved examination centre, we are able to offer qualifications in many disciplines from boards including Trinity Guildhall, LAMDA and I.D.T.A. Stage 84 students have achieved exceptional results as high as 100% in recent years, also maintaining a 100% pass rate for the School. Many of the qualifications attained by our young people are highly regarded by employers and contribute towards higher education and university entry requirements.

All students have the opportunity to be represented by the Principal, Valerie Jackson MBE, in the Stage 84 casting agency. Thousands of our students have appeared in films, on television, on radio, in professional shows and in the music industry. Some of our famous students include Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt - Coronation Street), Kimberley Walsh (Girls Aloud), Nikki Patel (Amber - Coronation Street), Jonathan Dixon (Daryl Morton - Coronation Street), Emma Williams (Truly Scrumptious - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - London Palladium), Katie Griffiths (Chlo Grainger- Waterloo Road), Jonathan Mason (Joe Carraclough - Lassie), Bradley Johnson (Young Blake Morrison - And When Did You Last See Your Father), Darcy Isa (Andrea O'Malley - Grange Hill), Joshua Brown (Alex Pickering - Grange Hill), Lee Otway (Bombhead - Hollyoaks), Amy Walsh (Hollyoaks).
